What Do Dark Discoloration And Cold Sensation On The Hands Indicate?

yes, I am 68 yrs old and for the past 6 months the top of my hands and up to approx. just below are staying near black, also from my ankles down are dark and cold all the time. I have had cancer, brain anyourism surgery, open heart surgery, left ankle surgery, and came thru these. I have have had Gillian beret for about 2 yrs and know that there is cure for this. I m on 4.0 o2 and use a nebulizer three times per day. I m short of breath most always even worse when I m trying to eat. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks dennis hill

Hello,

As per your clinical history is concerned, please follow like this:

1) Do a clinical examination by your treating Doctor and to confirm do few investigations like [Lipid profile, Doppler ultrasound, which can help your doctor evaluate blood flow through your blood vessels and identify blocked or narrowed arteries].

2) Discuss with your treating Doctor about prescription medications like:
a) Cholesterol-lowering medications
b) High blood pressure medications [Adjust Dose]
c) Medication to control blood sugar [Check fasting blood sugar]
d) Medications to prevent blood clots[Clopidogrel]
e) For pain and supportive treatment [Cilostazol]

Do follow few lifestyle modifications like this:

1) Try to quit smoking if you're a smoker
2) If you have diabetes, keep your blood sugar in good control.
3) Do exercise regularly. Aim for 30 minutes at least three times a week if you can do without any pain.
4) Try to control your cholesterol and blood pressure levels.
5) Try to eat foods that are low in saturated fat.
6) Maintain a healthy weight.
