I have pain and cramping in my left hand at that pads at base line of fingers and sometimes stings, especially during the night. Sometimes I cannot made a fist in the morning when I wake up. My right hand is not as bad but pain in the knuckles. I have had this pain since Jan. and no relief.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Maybe you have arthritis of small joints of the hands. Since it is unilateral we need to think again to see if it is not of any other etiology. For your problem, I would recommend examination which is not possible with this online consultation.

For now, if it is arthritic then any anti-inflammatory medication would be of help. So kindly get prescription for the same. Nothing to worry since it happens to many people and is curable. X-ray hand would be recommended if necessary to know joint erosions.

Hope this information helps you sort out your problems. If you feel it’s helpful then kindly give me a user thank vote.
Happy Health!

Dr. Archana
