What Do Pain And Discomfort In The Lower Abdomen Indicate?
I woke up this morning with Mild discomfort in my lower abdomen, the discomfort continued all day I had several loose bowel movements but no diarrhea. After lunch and then dinner the pain increased but subsided after going to the bathroom, more very loose stool. This evening I noticed that when I press lightly on the lower left side of my abdomen it is tender. I have no nausea, don t feel bloated, my appetite is normal, intensity of pain comes and goes, but the tenderness and discomfort on the left side are constant. Any idea s?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It is good to know you are better that before as pain has subsided. The pain due to inflamed pancreas is often in the upper left side of the abdomen, but you have tenderness on the lower left. Other cause can be diverticulitis. Sometimes it is also due to gas-flatulence, indigestion or ovarian cyst. You can take Pantopraol-40, once daily & Loperamide to control loose stool. Eat light, simple digestable food & avoid spicy oily food. You should be fine, if not get examined in ER & get treated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
