What Do Pain And Swelling In The Lower Legs Indicate?

Hi My name is Virginia and I m 53yrs.old..For the past five days both my feet, ankles ,,my lower legs have been swelling up so bad that they hurt. I know that I should prop them up during the day but I m having a problem with just setting around. My right foot and ankle have a little more swelling than the left , the swelling does seem to go down at bedtime, not completely..but as I get up in the mornings they will instantly begin to swell. Is this something serious?

Hello,

The way you are explaining us the symptoms, I feel it is not the cardiac origin, its only welling due to inadequate drainage of the venous sinuses. While supine it is getting better, but during the morning with time, it swells.

So, for these kinds of problems, kindly use compression stockings which help in the drainage of blood to the foot, and all your problems will be corrected. You can use pneumatic compressors also or elastic.
