What Do Pain In The Hips And Swelling In The Joints Indicate?

i have a question about my 30 year old son. He has some pain in his hips when waking sometimes and has swelling in some joints, in a finger that he jammed some time ago, seems to swell up and in joint in one of his toes. Could these be related and maybe stem from another problem?

Thanks for contacting with your health concern and because it requires mandatory physical examination thus after reviewing your case history I'm of the following opinion regarding your symptoms:

1. As the patient is young [30 years] so consult an Orthopedic surgeon/ Rheumatologist to exclude causes like tuberculosis and ask for Hb%, WBC, ESR, C- reactive protein, RA test and X-Ray Hip.

PS. It could be because of systemic inflammatory disease like osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, AVN [avascular necrosis], DVT [deep vein thrombosis], PVD [peripheral vascular disorder], Nerve irritation [Sciatica] since there are ways to treat the pain and other associated symptoms and continued physical therapy should be encouraged.
