What Do Swelling And Pain In The Armpits Indicate?

I recently finished breast cancer treatments. I am getting Herceptin every 3 weeks. For the last few days my armpits are swollen and hurt. I ve put on some weight, about 10 pounds in the last week. I had a mastectomy on the right side in March, have had some trouble with lymphedema on that side, nothing severe until now. Could I be retaining fluids for some reason?
