What Do Swollen, Painful Knees Indicate?

I am sever pain in both my knee s, having trouble walking, going up and down the stairs even trying to sit down, I have no insurance, is there something I can take to help the pain, it feels like someone is tryig to rip my legs off at the knee, they feel hot and are swollen.

Hi,
This is a case of Osteoarthritis of the knee joint in which the cartilage in between the bones gets worn out.

If mild to moderate osteoarthritis:
-- Strictly avoid squatting / sitting cross legged
-- Use western toilet only
-- Physiotherapy
a) Quadriceps exercises ( dynamic and static )
b) Ultrasound massage
c) chondroitin sulphate supplements
IF NOT RELIEVED THEN, intra-articular steroid injection wil do the job.

If severe, the only way is JOINT REPLACEMENT SURGERY.

Please consult your orthopaedician and get x ray of your knee and get evaluated accordingly.
