What Do You Suggest For Bilateral Cataracts?

My ophthalmologist suggested Crystalens for me for bilateral cataracts. However, he offered NO explanation and referred all my questions to his assistant. In addition, he is asking for $3000.00 for each eye by check or credit card before the surgery is done. I'm wondering why. Is this a Crytalens policy? Also, the Crystalens brochure says MANY have perfect 3 distance vision popstoperatively, I called the company and they referred me to the FDA website which stated that about 88% have it. My doctor's assistant said NONE of his patients have it and I would have to choose if I want near or far vision as glasses will always be needed. Now I see on-line that color perception is affected. So you can see why I am confused. Any advice? I'm an R.N. with a master's degree in nursing. Thank you.

If bilateral cataract is confirmed the surgery with intra ocular lens implant is the only answer.Lense power can begiven after estimation and remaining power can be corrected by taking glass. you can have bifocal correction. Itwill becheaper youwill have no problem.

Ophthalmologist Dr. Dadapeer K's  Response
Hello
I reviewed the history provided by you.
Your doctor has suggested you muktifocal lenses. The mono focal lenses which are routinely used will correct only distance vision and the patient requires glasses for near vision after cataract surgery.
The multifocal lenses correct both for distance and near thereby there is no need to use glasses for near vision.
However they have got certain problems lime glare decreased contrast sensitivity particularly in dim light thus making them less popular.
Thank you
