What Do You Suggest For Hiatal Hernia With An Acidic Throat When On Omeprazole?
I ve been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia and barretts esophagus 10 years ago....kept it under control with 20mg of omeprazole daily...I stopped smoking 3 weeks ago and now am suffering from an acidic throat....probably from the stress of quitting...I do not want to increase the omeprazole intake since I found online that this is only treating the symptoms and that it will make it worse...so naturally I m confused....I would like to get a good night sleep without the acid in my throat waking me up. I am a 49 year old Female

First thing , i would like to congratulate you on quitting smoking and would like you to keep it up!!
Secondly , you will need to change your drug and take esmaprazole with domperidone combination, this will reduce the acidity and also the reflux.
Please change your diet also and avoid hot and spicy food.
