What Does ALP Of 7,095 In A 18 Months Old Child Signify?

My 18 month old has an ALP of 7,095. Doctors referred us to a specialist and they did an ultrasound of the liver and it looks okay. They drew more blood and all of the tests except for the ALP isoenzymes test are back. They are normal. Is it possible the first test was inaccurate? I know that bone growth can cause high ALP but the 7095 seems very high. Could it just be from a growth spurt. Still awaiting the results of the isoenzymes test. He seems perfectly healthy otherwise except for some chronic diarrhea which appears to be clearing up after 6 weeks.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
Such a high ALP is not normally seen in this age group children. I must appreciate your team of doctors who got the workup done well for your baby. Looking at all the data, it seems that the value was a lab error and you need not worry about it. However, lets wait for the isoenzyme test too which is most probably come out normal as well. Take care.
