What Does B12 Deficiency With High Levels Of Methyl Malonic Acid Mean?

Hello, I am an RN with some unfortunate diagnostic information. eg..microvascular encephalopathy,minimal. COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT, PRIMARY, CONSISTENT WITH DEPRESSION. aN OCTREOSCAN REVEALED A BRAIN STEM TUMOR, ADENOMA VS CA. hOWEVER, THE SUBSEQUENT MRI DI NOT SHOW EVIDENCE OF THE TUMOR. i CAN NOT REMBER IF CONTRAST WAS USED. i HAVE NUMEROUS t2 HYPERDENSITIES IN THE WHITE MATTER, PROBABLE SMALL VESSEL ISCHEMIC DISEASE VS A DEMYELINATING PROCESS. tHE csf DID NOT REVEAL OLIGODENDRICYTES. i HAVE b12 DEFICIENCY WITH HIGH LEVELS OF METHYL MALONIC ACID.

Dear Friend, greetings. Methyl elevated melanoic acid indicates that you have B 12 deficiency. B12 deficiency also causes combined degeneration of neurons that might be the reason for encephalopathy.
You need to get schillings test done to know the proper cause of B12 deficiency. It could be nutritional if you are a vegan . It could also be petnecious anemia at atropic gastritis. You start taking cobalamin injection now and later get eveluated further . do feel free to contact us . thank you.
