What Does Calcinosis Mean And How Does It Affect The Body?
I had a punch biopsy done on my shin and it required 3 stitches. They called and said it was a Scar. Also said they wanted me to have immediate follow up blood work and something to do with levels of Vit. D and Calcium. Also was told I have Calcinosis. What does this mean? I am auto-immune already

Calcinosis is a term used to describe deposition of calcium within the body or organs.
It may be due to many reasons like increased calcium level,post traumatic state etc.It may be due to auto-immune disorder.
You need proper clinical examination and investigations.
First you need serum calcium and vitamin D level.
