What Does A Bleeding Bartholin Cyst Inside The Vaginal Lips Indicate?

Hello, I have an appointment booked with my doctor but not till the end of the month...but I m worried and would like a second opinion. I have bartholin cyst like cysts inside my inner lips of the vagina. Every time I have sex, i bleed profusely. There s a murder scene amount of blood but no pain at all. It s like a disgusting magic trick. Also not on my period at all, I ve recently had an iud put in in may and they did a std test then. This has been happening since march. However it only happened once a month until last month. Now it happens every time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I don't think Bartholin cysts can cause bleeding. The bleeding may be caused by the trauma or pathology of column uteri or fragile vaginal mucosa due to atrophy.

A colposcopy needs to be done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
