What Does A Brownish Red Patch On The Foot Soles Suggest?

My 11 year old has two brownish red stains on the bottom of one foot. I inspected all shoes ond socks that may be causing it but found nothing. I used an alcohol pad to remove it but nothing came off... It s been about a week and it hasn t changed... The reason he found it was doing a butterfly stretch (in karate class) and the soles of his feet were facing up... He then brought it to my attention but said no pain, itch or anything... Very baffled

Hello,

Red-brown colored stains on soles of feet can be due to naevus. Naevus is a benign neoplasm of melanocytes. I suggest you to consult your dermatologist for clinical assessment, investigations and thus management.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
