What Does A Bruise Under A Finger Nail Indicate?

Yesterday i discovered bruising under one of my fingernail yesterday, then today i see three more fingernails bruised with no trauma and others purple at base. No heart or oxygen problem, no raynaulds (sp?) no pain. I am a 72 year old female. Can you think of a cause?

Hi,

There are many causes for pigmentation under nail. It could be due to trauma or fungal infection or due to melanoma. I would suggest you to consult your Dermatologist to come to a diagnosis.
