Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello i had a small fluid like bump over a scar surgury line that is a year old and i went to a doctor and he said i had a infection from using deoderant so he prescribed me antibiotic and two days after it oozed out with blood and pus so is this normal? does this mean my antibiotics are working cause my pain went down after the meds. what im asking is it bad or good that it oozed out on its own?
Very likely the cause of the bump on the surgical scar of a year ago is one of the inner sutures coming out in the surface. Normally the body should absorb them but sometimes it does not happen and the body brings them out. During this process a bump with puss formation can happen and when the material is out the area heals. I think this is what has happened with you and is nothing to worry, it is part of the healing process of the body.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
