What Does A High White Cell Count Mean After Taking Antibiotics For UTI?
My 79 year old mother has been in the hospital/rehab with a UTI. She passed out on 11/17 and it was discovered she had a very advanced UTI. She has been thru several different antibiotics and nothing seems to work. She has had pretty high fevers for the last week or more and they are trying yet another antibiotic for 7 days starting tomorrow because a blood test taken today came back with VERY high white cell count. What does this mean? She is miserable and really weak....

High WBC count means taht the infectiom is still persisting and will require a change of antibiotic as it has not rsponded to the previous one .
