What Does A Skin Tag Around The Anus Indicate?

This sounds weird and possibly like a prank but I assure you I am not joking or being sarcastic.
I am 18 year old male and I am concerned as I have noticed a painless, small fold of flesh slightly to the side of my anus.
I am concerned as to what it is, as the common causes usually affect older people, and I am not even sure who to go to to get it checked out. I am not sexually active, do not smoke, rarely drink.
Could it be a harmless skin tag?
