Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a sore spot around my anus. Also a tender spot on my buttocks. Feels like a bruise but it is not. A little warm to the touch. This happens a couple times a year, and the tender spot is always in the same place. Generally when this happens I just don't feel really well altogether . Nothing in particular, just not myself. I had genital warts years ago. Just don't know what this could be.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It looks to me like hemorrhoid, which is located in anal canal and may protrude outside. Hemorrhoids are protrusions of veins in rectal wall and there are several stages of hemorrhoidal disease and the right treatment depends on type and stage of the disease.
Initially, it can be treated with dietary changes by having a high fiber diet with lot of fluids and make your stool soft. There are supplements such as Psilium and Detralex which may help as well. Also, you should use sitz baths and have hemorrhoidal cream.
Second, it can be treated with rubber ligation or sclerosation and in severe stages, surgery is recommended but for this you should consult a proctologist. Other causes include abscess and anal polyps but for this differentiation, you should do proctological examination. Till that try to follow my recommendations and see if this will be helpful.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein
