General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

An abscess in the groin area, especially one that is growing rapidly, can indicate an underlying infection. If it has started to drain and your husband is feeling unwell, it is recommended to seek medical attention as soon as possible. A visit to the emergency room or urgent care may be necessary to address the infection and prevent it from spreading further.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. H. Kay, General & Family Physician
