What Does Aggrevation In Intestine In CT Scan Result Mean?
My daughter has severe abdominal pain. She is in the hospital now and has been since Tuesday. She has seen a gynecologist who says this has nothing to do with her, a bowel specialist who said the same thing and a surgeon who said the same. Her CT scan shows aggrevation where the small and large intestine meet. What could this be
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history related to your daughter who is admitted in the hospital for pain in abdomen and the Gynecologist, Gastroenterologist and the Surgeon have said that the problem is not related to their specialty. CT scan shows aggravation where the small and large bowel meet. The most probable diagnosis is an inflammatory lesion at the ileo-caecal region and can be due to Tuberculosis and so on. Colonoscopy and biopsy can help to get an appropriate diagnosis. Second opinion of another Gastro Surgeon would help. A diagnostic Laparoscopy and biopsy can further helps as is the barium studies too.
