What Does Behavioral Changes Like Shying From Everyone?

Hello, my son is 7 years old. 4 years ago his behavior changed and he shies away from people. When checked he was diagnosed with autisms and he does have all the symptoms of the same. What should be our next step in the treatment of the same as the last Dr. we visited did not have anything more to say apart from diagnosting him. Please suggest as to who should we go to get proper treatment / way forward.

I went through your details. autism spectrum disorder. Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can cause a wide range of symptoms, and there are many different ways those symptoms can be grouped. Usually a single symptom like shying away from people can never indicate autism.

At the age of 3 or 4, it is quite natural for children to shy away from other people just because their development process needs that. But you said the doctor diagnosed the child for autism and the child had all the symptoms. You also say that the doctor did not prescribe any treatment plan. That is not according to the practice methodology. At the age of 3 or 4, if autism is diagnosed, treatment is a must. I also wonder, you also did not consult another psychiatrist all these 4 years.

I don't say the doctor got it wrong. But you need to consult another clinical psychologist or psychiatrist to get an overall assessment of autism. The treatment for autism is a must and autism cannot be treated without medicines. Please do consult a psychiatrist / psychologist ASAP.
