What Does Being Tested VDRL Reactive Mean?

My sister is in her 2nd trimester and has been tested as VDRL reactive in the titre ratioo 1:8 and her partner has been tested as nonreactive,so what does this mean?should she be treated for STD?is there any complication for her baby?she has been tested as HIV nonreactive.

VDRL test is done to rule out syphilis infection during pregnancy. If it is reactive then your sister is having this infection in her body.

She needs to be treated for this with penicillin group of antibiotics to prevent any complications for the baby. So I would advice her to contact her gynecologist as soon as possible for treatment.
