What Does Bilateral Prominent Lateral Ventricles For Follow Up In The Report Of A Pregnant Woman Indicate?

Hi my wife is now on 26th week of pregnancy and the obstetrics ultrasonography report stats that bilateral prominent lateral ventricles - for follow up. And I have shown the report to my doctor but she is telling that there is some thing in childs brain. what is that ?

hello
sonography showing bilateral prominent lateral venticles of the foetus needs further sonologic evaluation after 1-2 weeks.ceribrospinal fluid ciculate inside the brain into the ventricular system.so if there is any obstruction to the flow at any point due to congenital anomoly or any other reason, part behind the obstruction will dilate.so after some time it dilates further or not will be compraed with previous report and accordingly managed.
