Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My three year old has had a high fever of 103-104.5 for the past five days. Took her in day before yesterday, they said it was croup and gave her a steroid shot and sent me home. I waited it out yesterday, and this morning she woke with 104.5, so I took her back in and the Dr. said she couldn t know for sure, but it may be pnuemonia and gave us antibiotics. She is not eating and drinking very little no matter what I offer. Any suggestions? Why would the Dr. not do a chest exray if this was suspected?
Hi Welcome to Healthcare-Magic Greetings of the day
Refusal of eating associated with respiratory complaint which are severe , in this case Chest X ray is definitely indicated. Do discuss it with your Pediatrician. Take care Best Regards Dr Deepak Kishore MBBS, MS, MCH Consultant Pediatric Surgeon
