What Does Cold Sensation On The Left Arm Indicate?

Hi Doc, I have an unusual situation. I have been on an opiate reduction regiment. (From 350 mme to 75 mme so far) once I got under 200 mme my left arm started getting cold. It feels as though it is from the inside of my arm since putting a long sleeve shirt or blanket over the arm does not relieve the coldness. I am 58 weight 179 with a BP 112/74 and have chronic pain from a boating accident in 2001 Thank you Mike Roy Gorham Maine

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Local temperature rises occur most commonly due to inflammatory reasons. And local drop of temperature can occur due poor circulation. So, it could be either of the two, or can just happen normally under environmental influences. If you think your issue is continuous - then I would suggest you to rule out the second reason - poor circulation. As you have a hypertension risk factor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein
