What Does Constant Pain In The Head Indicate?

Hello, my daughter has been having what she calls a dull ache in her head for about 2 weeks now. She said it is not a pain, but a constant dull ache that is so intense it makes her nauseous. No fever, no symptoms of any kind related to flu or infection. She said because it never goes away that she becomes sensitive to light and just a little while ago she did get sick to her stomach because she was so nauseous. She has a rough history with her periods as far as not bleeding. She takes lo-loesterin and gets symptomatic but no results. I have a call in to her gyn whom I will be talking to tomorrow. This ache keeps her awake most of the night so she is short on sleep and not rested. I told her if this isn t better in any way tomoroow that I would take her to the ER. What s your suggestion?

Hello,

Her headache could be due to Migraine.

Since, she is having aura like symptoms, she can use T. Amitriptiline drug prophylactically one tablet in the night for one month.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
