What Does Dark Brownish Stool Indicate?

I m starting to find stools that are half brown, and half dark brown. I mean, the piece of stool is literally half brown, and the other half is dark. It happens practically every time I go to the bathroom now. Just wondering if maybe this could be blood in the stool?
