What Does Dark Vaginal Discharge Indicate?

My 83 year old mother is complaining of a vaginal discharge. I think it was misdiagnosed as a yeast infection by her doctor. She s had a hysterectomy 40 years ago, she s a breast cancer survivor - 5 years ago SND she s in end stage kidney failure, currently on dialysis. Can you possibly cone up with any possibilities? I m thinking it could be cancer if some kind. The discharge is dark, she says almost orange. She has no discomfort at all from this discharge

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per my clinical experience, the issue of dark vaginal discharge should be considered suspiciously for stump carcinoma in a patient of hysterectomy. I would recommend a per speculum examination for further management guidelines in details.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
