What Does High White Blood Count And Low Red Count Mean When Having Pbeumonia?

HI I have been battling pneumonia the past 3 months and once every few weeks my temp is 102 plus. I am hospitalized and put on iv antibiotics. Can you please tell me what a high white blood count and low red could possibly mean...other than, the pneumonia which I am told is clearing up.

Hello,
As you are suffering from pneumonia which is nothing but a infection of lung. Because of infection in your lung you are running with high temp of >102 F.
During any infections in the body it will respond by showing increased White Blood Cells in the blood picture, which is evident of active infection in the body.
As you are taking Injectable Antibiotics the symptoms will come down and your conditions will improve in few days.
Don't be anxious already your in a healing process. You will be alright soon.
Thanking You.
