Hi, I recently failed a urine test and the doctor said it is showing hydrocodone. The only thing I take is Tylenol 4. This doctor prescribes it. I'm very upset with him treating me like I'm doing something wrong when I'm not. I even talked to my pharmacist about this. I have a appointment to go back to the doctor I need to get to the bottom of why I failed the test. O this has happened before with him.
Hydrocodone is an opioid. Tylenol-4 also contains an opioid, codeine, in addition to paracetamol. Since metabolism of codeine can produce some hydrocodone and other common metabolites like norcodeine, this may have been responsible for your positive test for hydrocodone. When you see your doctor again, please discuss this with him.
Best wishes.
