What Does It Indicate If Hcg Levels Dropped From 250 To 61 After Miscarriage, D&C?
I had a missed miscarriage 5 weeks ago and had a D&C. I m still spotting do I went to the doctor and had a transvaginal ultrasound. There was blood flow to my uterus more than there was when they said the fetus had stopped growth. My hcg levels have dropped from 350 two weeks ago to now being 61. What is your opinion?
Hello, I have gone through the query and understood the concern. The fact that you had a confirmed miscarriage evacuated by dilatation and curettage and the falling serum beta-hCG levels confirm that you are not pregnant now. The cause of the increased blood flow could be due to the healing process as well after the evacuation. Hormone balance takes some time to recover after an abortion or a delivery and this is the possible reason for continued spotting. You can use styptics to arrest the bleeding. Hormone supplements may also become necessary if there is no relief. Please maintain proper genital hygiene. Take care.
