What Does It Mean By ++blood In Urine Test?

Hi, I am a 58 year old female with COPD, I take 5mg & 10mg prednisolone alternate days for this along with other medications. Over the past 2 years I have had 3 of 4 urine tests with ++blood, don t really know what that means, but I m worried. I have no visible blood in my urine. Regards Mrs P

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

The report says that there is some blood in urine as you have noticed. This is known as hematuria and expressed as "+", + beng mild and ++++ being severe. You have ++ and that is moderate.
