What Does Joint Pain & Bloody Nose Suggest Hypothyroid?
My sister may have thyroid cancer. She has many symptoms...carpal tunnel, aching joints, dry and flaky skin, inflammation of her hands and feet, low speech enunciation, and now frequent bloody noses. She is stubborn in going to a doctor, so my family might hold an intervention. She definitely has something up with her thyroids, I have had other doctors advise me to have her checked on noticing her symptoms when doing a physical on another family member. If it is hypothyroid problem, will it evolve into cancer?
Hi nobody can understand if it is a thyroid problem without a thyroid test(TSH,free T3,free T4)to controle the thyroid function and a thyroid ultrasound to see the thyroid structure. Joint pain and bloody nose can be suggestive for hypothyroidism but only the results of thyroid test levels can determine the diagnosis and check for related complications. It is difficult to answer the question if a hypothyroidism can involve into cancer, there are some criteres to consider:if there are any nodule in the thyroid structure and the ultrasound features of this nodule. Anyway my advice is that yoursister should go to a endocrinologist in your area to do the necessary tests. My opinion is that you should not worry about it now unless the diagnosis is confirmed.
