What Does Joint Pain On The Left Thumb Indicate?

the top joint in my left thumb is sore. It started about three weeks ago. At first it was stiff and painful in the morning when I woke up If I tried to bend it, it made a popping feeling bending and straightening it. The popping can be felt by fingers on my other hand if I touch my thumb and bend it. Now it is 24-7 pain and stiffness.

Hello,

Pain may be due to osteoarthritis, or psoriatic arthritis or trigger finger or gout may cause your symptoms. Other possibilities like overuse or trauma may cause pain. Take rest, apply ice and compression may be helpful. Use painkillers under your doctor guidance. Please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
