What Does Loss Of Appetite Fever & Throat Pain In Children Suggest?

My 4 year ol son has low grade fever, loss of appetite, clingy, seems very tired, does not want to play or do normal activities. Been going on for 2 days. Complains of throat hurting. ER visit today ruled out strept, throat not red or swollen. X ray clear. Any suggestions?

thanks for the query.
Low grade fever ,loss of appetite and lethargy are all possible sign of throat infection.
As his throat exaamination has not revealed any significant bacterial (strept) infection) it seems he has viral infection of throat.
Please give him paracitamol (crocin/calpol 200 mg) each dose which can be repeated after every 5-6 hours.
Give him soft diet (khichri/fruits/poha/custard/curd/dalia/dal/kheer/halwa) for next 2-3 days.
hopefully his symptoms will gradually show significant improvement and in 4-5 days time and he should be free of pain, fever and lethargy.
