What Does 'metastatic Disease And Fluid In Pelvis' On Abdominal CAT Scan Suggest?

My husband just received his cat scan. Of his abdomen because he has been having severe stomach pains and taking Tylenol pills nightly .The cat scan says he has fluid in the pelvis and a 1cm nodule suggesting a lymph node. It goes on to say that all of that suggest metastatic disease with mental metastases. In lat term what does this mean?
