What Does Moderate Dilation Of The Pelvicalyceal System Mean?

2 week old baby, ultrasound showed a moderate dilation of the pelvicalyceal system of the right kidney with right renal pelvis measuring 5.5mm in diameter. (Left renal pelvis measured 1mm). Have been referred to a public paed but several months wait.... What does this all mean?

Hi...it could be an antenatal hydronephrosis and it usually settles as the age progresses and the only intervention needed at this age is regular follow-up with ultra sound scans.
