What Does Mucus Discharge From Anus Indicate?

Hi there, yesterday I passed gas and a clear mucus sort of liquid came out of my anus. I then went to the toilet and my excrement contained more of this mucusey thing, but more opaque this time. I recently had an external hemorrhoid, but I think it was healing nicely, so I left it until this occurred. I m an 18 year old male, in good physical condition as I go to the gym regularly, it s not an STD/STI as I ve only had protected sex. Please can you help? thanks

Mucus is most of the time a sign of functional bowel problems, or indigestion and the most usual situation is Irritable Bowel Disease, but with just a day we can't make this diagnose. Hemorroids can sometimes "help"to pass mucus. Anywhere I think you don't have to be concerned about just one or a few episodes. Just go on a healthy diet and lifestyle as you've been doing till now.
