What Does My Pelvic Ultrasound Report Indicate?

My age is 38 & half. Female. Weight 99kg. Height 5.3ft. My pelvic ultrasound report of 16/6/2011 is: The uterus is retroverted, bulky, measures 8.8 x 6.6 x 6.1 cm, mild heterogenousity of the myometrial echotexture noted. The anterior myometrium is thickened. The midline endometrial echo is seen (10mm). No definite focal lesion seen. The cervix is normal size, shape and echogencity. Right ovary is normal in size, shape and echogenicity. Left ovary is small and indistinctly visualized, no adnexal lesion seen on left side. No free fluid seen in pelvis. IMPRESSION BY RADIOLOGIST: Bulky uterus, Heterogenous mymetrial echotexture and thickening of the anterious myometrium, possibility of adenomyosis to be considered.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The pelvic ultrasound shows presence of enlarged and bulky uterus.
The uterus is bulky due to presence of a benign conditions called adenomyosis.
Adenomyosis is a condition wherein the endometrial glands are present in the muscle layer also.
This leads to hypertrophy of the uterus and myometrium.
Adenomyosis is a non-neoplastic condition and it can be associated with menstrual irregularities, lower back pain etc.
