i have had a letter from my gynaecologist to my doctor and i am really confused with some of the names on there it says i have a retroverted normal sized uterus an endometrial thickness of 6.8mm and both ovaries showed a polycystic parenchymal pattern but no free fluid in the pouch of douglas on abdominal examination the abdomen was soft and tender but there was no guarding or rigidity noted on speculum examination on the cervix looked healthy and the os was closed and there was bleeding seen had a certain degree of cervical excitation tenderness. i dont understand a word of this could you help me out and explain this all to me .
1.Uterus anteverted - means uterus tilted anteriorly in relation to the bladder. Endometrial thickness is 6.8mm which is normal. 2.Both ovaries shows multiple peripherally arranged follicles with central echo-genic storm. ( which is called PCOD - polycystic ovarian disease ) 3.The symptoms in PCOD are any of these. Irregular menstrual cycle, increased weight, facial hair growth. 4.Treatment includes hormonal treatment. 5.There is no free fluid means no inflammation in the pelvis, cervix appears normal. Good luck.
Hope i have answered your query. Any thing to ask do not hesitate. Thank you.
