What Does My Ultrasound Suggest?

my 4yr old underwent an ultrasound that reads, "there is mild left pelviectasis on the pre-void images that reseolves on the post void images", I am being referred to a urologist. Can you please define what this is and what concerns i should or should not have?

hi,

thanks for your question.

this means that there is mild enlargement of the tubes that take the urine from the kidney to the bladder.

it suggests that there may be mild obstruction or narrowing in the tube somewhere.

your urologist will organise soem further tests to work this out.

best wishes
