What Does My Urine Test Result Indicate?

doing a urinalysis in a clinic at the moment, I usually screen for drugs of abuse, however, I happened to notice cloudy urine with sediment present so I popped in a urinalysis strip. Strip indicates Bilirubin + (1(17))protein 30 (0.3) and Leukocytes 125++.What are the indications for this urine test? Should I advise this pt to proceed to ER?

Hello,

The urine analysis you are having shows that you are having urinary tract infection because Leucocytes are elevated and protein too. You may need to do an uroculture to check what kind of infection is causing it and which antibiotic works best.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
