What Does Pain Around The Groin Area Indicate?

Thank you I am a 61 yr old female who for the last 3 months has had a pain in mr right side bikini line area. It is only painful when I touch the area - I have been in physical therapy for approx. 2 months to strengthen my legs, so I quit falling, but recently (last 3 weeks) have had a pain in the middle r side of my buttocks (very tender to the touch) could this be related? If so, what is the cause? Remedy?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

"Tender to the touch" could indicate an abscess or a bruise. Has there been any trauma? It could of course be deeper and muscular, and thus a result of strenuous exercise. In this case, pain would worsen when you use your leg, especially when walking up stairs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
