What Does Pain In The Knees Indicate?

i have been working out for about 5 months. recently i increased my workout as far as weights. for the last week my left knee has been hurting above my knee cap, not inside my knee but the top of my knee cap where it connects to my thigh. what could be wrong and what can i do to help it heal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
It seems you have over strained your knees with increased work out.
-Take reas for few days.
-take over the counter NSAID .
- light massage with relaxil ointment
-physiotherapy /light knee exercises .. after pain stops.
-Consult orthopedic surgeon if no relief/problem increases.
Thanks
