What Does Pain In The Left Knee After A Surgery Indicate?

I am a 71 year old woman. I had Polio at almost 3 yrs old and also was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 23, although I d had several episodes since i was 18, that were, in hind sight, exacerbations of M.S. The last 15-18 yrs I have been experiencing post polio syndrome and no real m.s. symptoms. Is this normal? The post polio has really taken a toll on my body and spirit. My right leg Is without hamstring muscles and i ve just had an arthroscopic operation on my left knee. Two days later I was rushed to a close-by hospital with a rapid heartbeat, which was A-Fib and V-tach. I am now on blood thinners and two heart medications. My left knee is still quite painful. What can I look forward to, going forward?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Polio becomes stable once it happened and not further clinical symptoms is there, but of course the Multiple sclerosis may have some symptoms that neurological in origin and that of course demands the medical attentions, for the knee pain you can go for surgery only if you are qualified for that else it can be managed with anti-inflammatory drugs only, for the cardiac disease it is advisable to visit the cardiologist on regular basis, but it is least concern with polio, MS or knee pain.
