Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has been having sharp sudden pains in his neck to his head, on his right side. At first we thought he just slept wrong, but it has been getting worse the last two days. We just went out f.or lunch a couple hours ago and he flinched from the pain half a dozen times. He said the pain is intense, about a 9. He had lymphoma about 3 years ago and has had some weird feelings in his right arm and left leg. I don t know if they are related at all--just assumed it was neuropathy from the chemo. He made an appointment for a physical in a couple weeks but could go to urgent care if needed.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
No urgent care is not necessarily, for now, any painkiller will be sufficient for his problem. But since you say chemo-induced neuropathy or if lymphoma invaginating nerves of that part can also cause persistent pain like this. So I recommend him to get an MRI neck to know the status of his lymphoma cured or any residues left behind.
If that is normal he can take any vitamin B 12 tablets which help in the growth of the nerves. Neurobione Forte can be taken for a month once daily after food. Hope you get back to us with the reports.
Hope this information helps you sort out your problems. If you feel it’s helpful then kindly give me a user thank vote. Happy Health! Regards, Dr. Archana
