What Does Pain In The Right Breast Indicate?

I am 66 years old, female and I have had pain in my right breast for about 4 days. It almost feels like I was hit in the breast. I think it feels a little lumpy and my daughter thought it looked like it could be bruised. I have no history of Breast cancer in my family, I have a o ob gyn appt. on Monday for an estring to be inserted so I will have my pa check my breast then. Should I be concerned.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Breast mass may be due to infection and cysts or benign lesions or malignancy etc. Skin over the lesion easily pinchable and if no axillary lymphnode enlargement or no nipple retraction then it may be benign lesions. You may need to consult your gynecologist, she will do mammography, examination and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
