What Does Pain In The Shoulders And Legs Indicate?
I exercise a lot (bike riding, walking, etc.) and at 61 years old, I have a lot of aches and pains in my shoulders, legs and arms. I stretch regularly, eat well, etc. How do I know if I have inflammation? From the aches and pains? I see a chiropractor regularly for adjustments. Barb
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I would like to tell you that pain in shoulder, legs and arms can be because of polymyalgia Rheumatica in older age. Common symptoms include pain in upper arms, thighs and pelvis girdle.
Mild joint swelling in wrist and knees can be there. You can take pain relievers like Ibuprofen or naproxen as of now. Kindly consult with a Rheumatologist for further evaluation and management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Navneet Bansal
