What Does Pain In The Skull Indicate?

yes I have been having severe pain in the mastoid process portion of my scull, I have degenerative disc disease also. these excruciating painful headaches start in the mastoid area and surround the ear continuing up to center of scull. I have cervical mri s and they show from c2 on. I had bk surgery 1and1/2 years ago, fusion L5, S1, still have problems there , but these head aches are of great concern to me because of the freguency and severe pain with no relief . I am scared of stroke or aneurysm.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

First of all no need to worry for stroke or aneurysm as your MRI is normal. By your history and description, possibility of migraine is more likely. So follow these steps for better symptomatic relief in migraine.

1. Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated.
2. Avoid Fasting and take your meals timely.
3. Avoid excessive sun exposure. Take 6-8 hours of sleep regularly.
4. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
5. Take Propranolol and Flunarizine combination at night time.

Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
